St. Kevin's Church

Client: St. Kevin's Church
Location: Wicklow
Year: 2012

On this project we worked very closely with our sister company WTWO Design and the Tinahely church committee. To light the main body of the church we used Prolicht Super Sign suspended fittings. These gave an element of uplighting, helping to highlight the ornate church ceiling.  Prolcht LED downlighters were used to light the alter area in a warm and efficient light. Agabekov xenon luminaires were used throughout the church. Because of the warmth of the light they produce, they are unrivalled at creating atmosphere. Xenon in-ground fittings were used to up-light the massive bespoke stone doors behind the alter area and we also used xenon profiles behind the doors to highlight the Tabernacle, which gives the impression it’s ‘floating’.  On the ceiling over the alter area xenon was used to ‘wash ‘the ceiling with a warm colour of light. LED RGB colour changing inground fittings were used to uplight the walls either side of the alter, to help produce different atmospheres for particular occasions.
"Willie was an amazing help to us when we were renovating our house! He came to see the house when we were in the middle of renovations and very quickly sized up each room and told us to come to the showroom the following week to see some suggestions. He was exactly right with the choices and we didn’t change a single light fitting. You didn’t expect the lighting to be a difficult part of the renovation but we really didn’t know where to start and we couldn’t have done it without him. The light fittings we have in our home are so interesting and varied and fit in so well that everyone comments on them when they see the house for the first time. We are very grateful for all of Willie’s help and expertise."
